You should. And yes, it has come up several times before. it's hard to say if a wipe will fix anything as those results haven't really been consistent. There's an on device hardware test you can do. Dial *#2886# and you should see the fingerprint option, run the test if you can. If it doesn't work or isn't shown, it's a hardware failure.

I had this problem come up yesterday actually. My NFC (Google Pay) stopped working. so I did a reset.

When I finished the reset, I was halfway through restoring/setting up my device when I realized that my fingerprint sensor was only half working. (one side of the space bar reader was functional, the other was not. additionally, only one of the flashing lights was working)

I did another reset and the fingerprint sensor now seems to be working properly.

I replaced the fingerprints in my k1 and then it works. after a few hours the sensor does not work while the lights are flashing. This must be a software issue.

I never dropped my K1 and it is in mint condition.

Mine stopped working after update, now the phone is lost too. Lol.
