Hi, I got my new KEYone after all the KEYones got upgraded to Oreo. I'm still on Nougat ever since with no prompts to update so I have to do it manually. How do I do it, and can I do it without having to wipe my phone? Thanks.

Type *#837837# into your phone dialer. Report back your build and PRD.

I'm using the SIM version (I'm on MetroPCS).

I tried and it said "connection problem or invalid MMI code."

Try more carefully. This is just a readout - no connection required.

That's a problem. You have an unlocked device sporting a OS build exclusive to the AT&T-branded device.

You will have to use an autoloader to get up to date and back in sync with OTA updates.

I'm confused? I just bought the phone new off eBay.

Maybe it was only new to HIM ?
Well it was a new unactivated phone. I got it/activated it after Oreo was rolled out.

    New from who?

Because a new phone would NEVER be shipped this way.

I can't remember the seller but he/she had a very high approval rating that I remember. That's how I choose my vendors.

don't be like a kid, maybe it was new, never opened, but branded by AT&T, they also sell new but branded devices.

The seller just forgot to tell you about it, maybe he/she doesn't even know that it's branded.

ebay is a sewer... liars abound... you can see your purchase history on the ebay website... contact the seller... you can get ebay to intervene and make it right

    Nope. AT&T devices are PRD-63116-036.

That is the ONLY device variant that should have EVER seen that exclusive AT&T build.

"Don't be like a kid"? Is that how we talk to each other now?

ok, then somebody loaded AT&T version to a standard unlocked device. More than obvious that this device wasn't new at all.

Not just ebay sellers are liars, I bought brand new iPhone to my wife, factory packed, ... and when she broke display, repair shop showed me several proofs that display was already replaced in the past.
And I bought it at the biggest Czech electronic shop.

EBay is an online swap meet that met a pawn shop and discount retail store and got married. It’s definitely a place where a lot of merchandise is misrepresented....intentional or not

The only retailers selling new KEYone Phones in the US were Amazon, Best Buy and AT&T. If you didn't buy from one of them, it was bought new by someone before you.

Wait, I just got time to check out the thread you linked. You said not to use this if it is an AT&T branded device, and you said the build on my phone is exclusive to AT&T branded devices even though it shows T-Mobile when I boot up the phone. So is it safe to use this autoloader or no?

It's safe because you do NOT have an AT&T -branded device.

I've successfully updated to Oreo but I don't have the privacy shade or redacter features like I did on my old Oreo KEYone and I am on the January 9, 2019 patch. Any ideas?
