Google Assistant is available for me to download and install from Google Play but when I open it, it says it's not available on my device. The BB Keyone videos shows it's supposed to work. Holding down the 0 key does nothing either.

It definitely works on the KEYone . There are steps you have to take to make it work obviously such as going to settings/security/smart lock to train your voice recognition. Also when installing the Assistant you have to grant permissions for it to work. Can you be more specific as to what you are experiencing?
After installing it from Google Play it did not prompt for any permissions as most other apps do. There is noting more specific other than: 1. Search for app in Google Play. 2. Click Install. 3. Click Open. Get message that it isn't available.
What country are you in? Might it be jurisdictional? Language?
Canada. English.
I don't think that should be a problem.
But it is as I can't even open the app.
There really is no need to open the app. To my knowledge all you need to do is go into Settings/Security/Smart Lock and enable "OK Google". Further down on the same screen you then can train the phone to recognize your voice. Once set all you have to do is say " OK Google" and Assistant will open up from wherever you are. Make sure that you ask her if she has a crystal ball for kicks!
