KEYone: Google Assistant not available on this device.
GA installed from Play Store but reported as "not available" on new KEYone. It worked well on a previously owned PRIV. Any suggestions?
I have Google Assistant working on this device. However, typing or editing the conversation is not supported. It just force quits when I try to open a keyboard.
I was able to install Google Assistant from the Play Store. I even set it to my convenience key. I have had zero issue using it with voice (although talk-to-wake doesn't seem to work).
It is installed on mine from new.
Touch & hold the Home key and it will activate. That's the one that's a circle between the triangle and square beneath the screen
I can download Google Assistant from playstore. What are you talking about?
works fine for me, I actually use it quite a lot for reminders, shopping lists etc
Go to settings/security/smart lock/voice match and then enable "OK Google" and then complete voice recognition on the same screen. Everything should be good after that.
It is a Native app to Keyone! It is loaded from the minute you purchase it! Just enable "OK Google" in settings! Done.
mine has worked since day one as well
works for me.. I have set up as a shortcut on my convenience key.
wake from any screen is not working for me. I go crazy trying.... any suggestion?
Remove the Google assistant that you downloaded from Google apps it is intended for older operating systems.
Google assistant is built in to the Google app itself which you should be keeping up to date.
Just make the settings appropriate to your needs inside the main settings profile you should this one on Android 7+.

tks. but unfortunately OK Google from any screen is dimmed in my k1 and really don't know why. it just work if I press the mic the icon.
Open the Google app, got to settings and then voice, turn it on or re-train voice. It works and is part of Android.

It's not only intended for older OSes.
With the app, you can map it to hardware keys. Not everyone wants to have "ok Google" enabled.
Hardware keys on Android in general, or just BlackBerry Android? If the latter, BlackBerry Android must be doing way better than we are led to believe. Such as possible greater than 10 million units. Mmm
Any device that has mappable hardware keys.
but if one like to have OK Google from any screen enabled?
Use both or either. It doesn't matter.
Time to play. Assistant be my guest. :-)
