My phone has too many quirky things with it, I'd like to completely wipe it and start with a fresh OS. How can I completely wipe the phone and start with the original version of Nougat? Will the autoloader do that? Will a factory reset do that?

Download and install this software to a Windows PC: https://mega.nz/#!uM1FCZKb!sgf-kGMor...W_I_vjCqRfzn5k

If you haven't already, get the BlackBerry MTP drivers too: https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/D...1570F46266A608

Once you run the tool it'll wipe your phone and reinstall the OS.

Wouldn't a factory reset provide a clean OS?

I did all three, FRP, Factory reset from the boot loader then used the tool.

One thing I noticed about using the tool is that I didn't have to set the OS to US English language when it started, it was defaulted there somehow. I had to make the change with the other two methods. My phone is a PRD-63116-042 so not sure where it's from.

I'm pretty much manually setup now by not allowing Google to restore any previous backups and installing all my apps from scratch. The phone seems a lot less buggy not and even has some difference in behavior (or perhaps settings I've yet to find...)

I think you had a bad restore. My understanding is that a factory reset would be the same as the tool but stand to be corrected by thurask or conite.

Doesn't matter, I'm trying to return the phone. I could take the little anomalies like multiplying SIM contacts but I'd be talking and the person on the other end would start saying, "hello, hello, did you hang up..." That's happened so often that it has to be the phone and certainly something I can't overlook for $500...

Return it but be warned this device has reception issues depending on location.

I doubt if it's reception since I hear them fine saying, "hello, hello, you there? Did you hang up?" But stranger things have happened...

Are there any such tools for the other Android phones? The autoloaders for the DTEKs became obsolete some time ago.

For the DTEKs you'd have to beg and plead with BB support.

BlackBerry + Android is an absolute disaster. My 1-month old keyOne (trash heap) keeps re-starting; 16 times already! Can’t stop it.

I HATE BB for stopping BBOS. Enormous mistake.

Back up your data and do a factory reset. If the problem still persists, take it back for repair/replacement

BBOS is more than dead, and BB10 is just about buried. But at least it didn't bury the company with it, cause if they kept going, the KEYone would have never existed.

Transmission and reception can have separate troubles...
