    im so excited for this phone to come out!! When i got the Classic it came in the ugly ATT box (orange and white). I'll be buying an unlocked KEYone (not for the box, lol) and this makes the wait more unbearable.

    No, it's not weird at at all. BlackBerry Mobile (TCL) has a license to make and sell BlackBerry phones.

    Yes but at every stop they have made sure to tell people it is not a BlackBerry but a BlackBerry mobile phone. So why does the packaging not show this?

    TCL has never said that the KEYone is not a BlackBerry, only that BlackBerry phones are now being made and sold through TCL's BlackBerry Mobile.

    They never emphasized it was made by BlackBerry Mobile. It's TCL, and just like when it was RIM, the phone had BlackBerry on it. If you look at the back of the box, you'll see www.blackberrymobile.com at the bottom.

    BlackBerry Mobile is used to differentiate it from BlackBerry. I think the intent was to alleviate confusion, not cause it.

    And since TCL has is licensed to use the BlackBerry name and to sell BlackBerry branded devices, that's exactly what they are doing.
