f-droid is awesome. You have to take your time, and read about each app. Most have a website with more info

Yep, F-Droid is great! Not a fan of the new Updates page tho. I use nds4droid, NewPipe, VLC, OSMand, and AddressToGPS (Searches Google Maps and puts coordinates into OSMand).

I used to go full fdroid no google on my old priv, I was curious if anybody uses fdroid on their k1 / motion. if so, what / how they use it. ☺
