Hi,
After the recent update to keyboard the Enter key by default sends the message. Before it used to add another line. How can I have it set to add another line again. Would appreciate some help here.

Hi...

That isn't a keyboard feature, it is an app behavior!
Has the messaging app also changed by an update?
On apps that interpretes the return to send a message, often you can press shift and enter to add a new line!

I use the default messaging app by Google. Before the update the return key would add another line. I checked in settings of messages to see if there was an option to enable return key to add new line but there isn't. In Whatsapp I have the option unchecked for return key to send message but it still sends message with return key instead of adding new line.

The last update of Android messages is three days old...
Maybe that ist your problem... But i can't check... I never write SMS....

I use Textra for SMS. It has the ability to choose to send via enter key or add a new line. The stock Android messages app does not send via enter key.

I've noticed the same issue with my Keyone, running the latest bb keyboard beta. Not sure when it started exactly. Hopefully the next bb keyboard update fixes it.

I use Yatta for SMS / MMS and there is an option for enter key behavior as well.

I tried and tried again with Yatta but I always encounter slow downs and freezing. Textra is fast and great, however I do have MMS issues with AT&T.

no option here in messages either, just the arrow for sending the messages, return key adds a new line. running BBB100-2 ABA693 - is keyone silver
No beta, no testing, just pure system.

Just received an update for the keyboard and the return/ enter key adds a new line once again.
