Would anybody who formerly used a DTEK60 like to compare their performance experience with that of the KEYone?

Define 'performance'. I've been saying all along that while on paper the DTEK60 is the better device, it's really not in real world use. KEYone is better overall. Better camera, better battery life, better app optimization, etc. If your idea of performance though is solely defined by specs, and benchmarks the DTEK60 will likely always come out on top.

App Optimization.... ? There is a difference in BlackBerry Apps, or just the ability to assign keyboard shortcuts allows for user optimization, or Android Nougat is just better?

I'm not necessarily concerned about what paper says. I'm talking real world performance. Stuff I do ever day, such as: launching a application, multi tasking multiple applications, performance of the hub, browsing speed. I don't play any graphic intensive games, or games at all for that matter Bla1ze.

App optimization? Can you elaborate on this?

Runs Nougat. Any recent / most used apps are going to be targeting the higher API levels and as such any optimizations that have been brought forth with Nougat.

Nougat is just better. Even the JIT optimization alone is enough to make a difference - https://developer.android.com/about/...0.html#jit_aot

That's one way to look at it though.. I prefer to think of it as more along the lines of the Android OS your DTEK is running is starting to get outdated. I mean, phones themselves are pretty much outdated as soon as you buy them. Arguably before you even do so, best to focus on the OS itself more than the hardware otherwise you'll never be ahead.

It is software, and compiler optimization. So where is 7.1.1 for DTEK?

A lot of improvements in security too. But useless if it isn't available.

No phone does well with existing IS at time of launch. Samsung, BB, Apple... luckily Huawei was quick to push 7.0 out on Mate 9 in the run-up to shipping and just months after announcement.

I bought three Android Blackberry models last year, and a 2nd DTEK60. Might we can go for K1.

Was so impressed by Huawei I'll pickup P10/+. Along with an 8+ of Note after they resolve some issues.

What if the DTEK60 were to get Nougat down the road? Now you have that same software the KEYone has running on more powerful hardware.

If dtek60 is less optimized, it will be slower than KEYone. It's all about how BlackBerry tweak/optimize the phone.

    @Bla1ze
Would I be correct in assuming that the DTEK60 should receive the 7.1 Nougat update in short time?

Wait for the dtek60 to be upgraded to Nougat and it'll kill K1 in almost every performance aspect. Dtek60 is more future proof than K1.

I agree but BlackBerry will intentionally delay the nougat release so it won't affect keyone sale.

Yes you don't appreciate an amoled panel until you switch back to LCD. I always preferred the richer blue and darker blacks on the Q10 vs the Z10 also. Ultimately it's preference.

I love my q10, z30, priv, dtek60 but somehow q10, z30 feels better than priv or dtek60 even though they have lower resolution.

There's absolutely no difference between super amoled and amoled technology. The only difference is the way the digitizer is used.

just like your car. you drive out of the dealer's lot, it is outdated... 20% lower price... (unless you are Dev, optimize further by yourself)... sorry ;-)
