In the past I've heard people complain about the Carrier name showing up in the Notification Bar at the top left. Here's how to get rid of it!
Open Notable and go into settings then enable "Show a screenshot Notification". Poof the Carrier is gone. Lol
Yup! Been my trick since forever :)
In fact, I completely cleaned up my status bar; I have got absolutely nothing there with the exception of notifications, whenever they show up.
Either that or just enable Privacy Shade.

Today Weather does the same thing. That's what I have in place of ATT
Mine has never shown the carrier name on my Black Edition. I'm using a T-Mobile Sim in the United States
Mines does on the lock screen but not when I get inside. I have TMO USA also.
You can also keep the BBM Connected notification on and have a BBM logo instead! (For those of you that use BBM lol)
