All the attachments are getting automatically downloaded and can be viewed by clicking the top right attachment icon. With the rate of email attachments i receieve my phone storage would be full within a few weeks.

It shows you have attachments, but doesn't pull them to the phone until you click it. You'll see the download progress bar after you click it, then it will ask to open it, or ask where to save if you clicked the save icon.

There is a setting for each account in the Inbox for auto-downloading over wi-fi, but even while it's on for me, it never actually auto-downloaded. I've always had to click the attachment and watch the download progress bar, even while on wi-fi.

Assuming you have the most current version - 2.1902.2.17144...

Check Google Play for updates if you don't have that.

Tap the "Settings" gear in the upper right > scroll down a bit to "Manage Accounts" > pick account to check > scroll down to near the bottom for "Download attachments" > there's an on/off switch.

I can't find such a setting on the hub. I'm running the latest version of the hub.

What kind of email account do you have?

I have that for an Exchange and an IMAP account.

If it's a Pop3 account, that setting may not be available. Someone else would have to verify that.

I haven't had a pop3 account in years. I think it downloads as soon as you click to read the email.

This might be something for @LiamQ to answer or explain.

With POP3, we can't download attachments separately from the message body, so we always get them.

If you can switch to IMAP, your life will be better. There's no good reason to use POP3.

It's a good thing your email provider had that option.
