BBM for iOS and Android is shutting down on the 31st. The successor is BBMe but I don't know if that supports groups.

Search threads here. Several BBMe support groups and related already exist. Stick together as strength in numbers....

years ago it was a thing. when the tsunami hit Banda Aceh years ago all communication via normal channels were toast. my niece was able to file for a NYTimes Magazine photo spread and piece direct via BBM, the only channel open, from her BlackBerry phone... things have changed.

Being in international business with exchanges and travel on a global level, security remains important so I have switched from BBM to BBMe and very pleased with the use of the later being an improvement from BBM. Also having one full year free, then $3.50 per 6 months after will not break the bank. Cheers.

    Get BBMe (which BlackBerry manages.)

2016: BlackBerry licensed out BBM to an Indonesian company that decided to drop it May 31st 2019.

BBMe is much better for communications and you can have it up to 5 devices and computers at a time and do stuff like screen and app view sharing (both ways.)

As of yet, groups can be created and you can be invited however groups have no pins associated with them.

I wrote two articles on my blog at on BBMe:

What's the sales pitch to many that have moved from BBM from BB to BBM from Emtek to BBMc from BB as current ?

In that same time, overwhelming majority of users haven't experienced any problems. For many twice abandoned users, they see more safety in WhatsApp userbase acceptance than consumer data mining.
