I was getting use to not having to charge my phone for three days. Now it is a day again all because what ever Update I did wiped what ever settings I had to block background Google processes.

I was also clocking 2gb of data per month over the *normal* 16gb of data for doing the same usual phone behavior.

What have you done to block all these data / battery leaches?

Check what apps are set to "unrestricted data usage" in the Data Saver settings. Make sure you have selected 'show system apps' .

That should give you am idea of some of the Google apps using background data.

Thank you, there is more to the soup of this I'm afraid. I remembered setting up a firewall too and can't seem to find. I found an app I installed called "paranoid" that tells you everything that apps are doing behind the scenes. It just sickens me that phones have gone to this low. In just one day of after doing an update, about 3gb of data usage (granted 1gb for the two updates) should have been my total for the month.

I'm guessing that you're referring to Netguard
