On his latest interview where he discussed about how Donald Trump being elected would affect technology, he pretty much confirmed the smartphone saying that there would be another keyboard device he had promised
This is great news and hope that it gets released within the next few months. I know he said "coming soon", but hopefully he doesn't make this PKB fans wait too long.
it depends on the sale, if the qwerty make profit,i confidence it will be another in house device...because bb knows there are millions die hard fans...john chen never said will stop bb10.last phone or not will be based on each quarter result..they need make profit and increase the value of stock then can focus on release bb10 device..i dont think they will stop making in house device but just slow down in releasing new model..now they focusing licensing their software to company from indonesia, china n india....they focus on software..i dont think bb will release mercury end of 2016 because software can make them profit for next quarter result

Oh no... i can't take those gospels "BB10 is not dead!" serious any longer. Despite I'm not having any insights to Blackberry and it's plans, as 99 % here and their CEO, i can't find there any evidence that BB10 will be revived. Imagine, even Whatsapp and Facebook are not supporting it any longer. How will you convince those companies and New Users to jump again on this OS?
So they are coming out with a new qwerty physical phone, BUT they're not the ones "manufacturing" all they're doing is the software, basically baking DTEK software into the qwerty android phone. That's the message I got.

They will build the next Pkb in house. If not profitable then it is the last in house. If they somehow turn some profit from the pkb device, then there will be another last in house . Pretty much same for all companies I guess. But their main focus will be on software.
I know it is not exactly same but think of it as BMW bicycles. It is not the main focus, but they make it in very small volume and charge more than it is supposed to.

I am not sure I agree with this. We all know who "manufactured" that last 2 phones and it wasn't Blackberry. TMK, the last phone truly "built in house" by Blackberry was the PRIV.

Chen said that it will be in-house. Don't know what to add to it.
