I take no one else is suffering from this problem?
Yes, trying to sync to a Volvo XC60, still struggling.
I can't sync with my Renault Grand Scenic either. And after my phone connects with my car, the car will say that there isn't any network connection. Have to turn off and on bluetooth on the phone to get it to work properly. Come to think of it... Maybe the syncing might work when that's achieved. Will try that later today! Keep you posted!
I am no longer able to sync contacts with my Honda Accord (2015). Worked on ABG version but no longer on ABK version.
Just noticed that in the Bluetooth settings for my car on the phone it is not given me the option to sync contacts, but when I go to the other half's car bingo it works.
How can this be?
I have exactly the same problem on my vw t-roc. key2 does not require access to contacts. they do not appear. with my passport everything worked perfectly with a beautiful vw logo on the screen. what to do to have my contacts ??
you have to have the +1 on the beginning of all the numbers in your contacts
I bought a new KeyOne about a month ago and struggled to get my contacts sync'd to my VW Scirocco. What worked for me was to untick and then re-tick the 'allow access to contacts' setting, which appears on the phone during the pairing process. By default, it looks like it is ticked.
I'm on Oreo Dec patch.
Tried the unticking and ticking which has not worked, thanks for the advice. thought the latest update may of helped but still no joy.
really don't get this as I have another android phone on Oreo which works fine.
It's minor issues like this that turn BlackBerry users away from purchasing another BlackBerry phone in the future. Address these issues and keep your customers happy
assuming they are usa or can contacts...
I'm in UK. The latest update did fix my music files that now show up on the car audio but cannot get the contacts to show and need to dial straight from the phone.
Same issue on a VW. Contacts synchronization was working fine but then stopped working. I can't tell if it was after the update... A workaround for me is to delete all the Bluetooth paired devices on my phone, and after a while I pair it again with the car and works for a couple of weeks.
When you pair the phone the first time you need to watch carefully for a little checkbox "Share Contacts and Call History" or something very similar. If you don't check that, you're doomed. There are a couple of work-arounds:
1) Turn off your phone's bluetooth and then delete the phone from your car's bluetooth profiles. Turn off your car (so your phone can't pair) and then turn on your phone's BT so that you can delete the car from that profile.
2) Now - turn on your car and phone's BT and try the pairing again - watching carefully for that little checkbox on the phone.
3) If that did not work and if your car has Android Auto installed - you can automate all of this by simply connecting your phone to a USB port in your car. Repeat Step 1 above to erase the connections. Start your car and plug in your phone to the car's USB connection. Android auto will start and also pair your phone for BT as well.
This worked very well for me a couple of times for different KeyOne and Key2's I paired to my Audi and a rental Kia.
I am experiencing the same issue. The phone pairs. Can make and receive calls. But no contacts or call lists will transfer. My wife's Moto on Oreo syncs these items just fine, so I don't believe this is an Oreo issue, but once again, BlackBerry is the problem. Very frustrating. This is simple tech these days, obviously. Would love for BlackBerry to address this quickly.
When the dialog appears, it looks like the checkbox is ticked, but I don't think it actually is.
Tap it once, and it blanks the box out. Tap it again, and it ticks the box properly. Try it from there - that worked for me.
Thanks Carl. Tried it and bingo it worked for me. Done all the deletion from car and phone then re paired and unticked the box on first screen and re ticked it. Went through the rest of set up and it worked.
Only thing I have done differently than before is unticking and reticking the very first share contacts with car box.
Many thanks all who have contributed much appreciated. 👍
I'll give that a try. Hopefully that will fix it. Thanks for the tip!!
Well, sure enough. That worked for me. Unchecked then rechecked the dialog box and viola! Contacts transferred over. Thanks for the great tip Carl! 👊
Thanks Carl, that did the trick. Saved me from doing a factory reset.
Had the same problem with Keyone and Skoda Karoq after updating to ABL693.
A hard reboot solved the problem.
I had this issue with my new Key2 today, latest ABM firmware, and this trick fixed it for me.
I had the same problem with my K2Le. Does this bug effect all Android BlackBerry devices?
I had the same issue. After deleting Android Auto which didn't work any way since the Oreo update, all the connecting issues disappeared,
