I do not have an option to check for updates in my "About Phone" listings (CDMA K1). It has an "Android Security Patch Level" option, but that takes you to an Internet page with stuff that isn't relevant. Is this normal? Anyone else experienced this? How do I check for and receive updates?

There is a BlackBerry pre-installed icon called 'update' on the homescreen. Click the check for updates option.

Being three months behind on "monthly" patching is a bit irritating when other versions of the K1 have already gotten several patches, including July.

It's in the app drawer. Grey circle with 6 dots at the bottom middle of your home screen.

It is simply called "Updates" and its icon is a gray-black square with a 3/4 while circle/arrow in its center.

And you inspired me to waste another few seconds and run it. Still NO update for the cdma model.

We have no idea what the holdup is. Since this is directly from BBMobile or even BB "The Software Company" (provide the basso profundo voice with echo) and not Verizon (the usual holdup) it is not nice having who knows what kinds of security weaknesses exposed. But, at least, we get our notifications!

it would be nice if BlackBerry Mobile would at least acknowledge their failure here. The CDMA versions have been impossible to find on sale and left unsupported if you're "lucky" enough to have gotten one.
