Changing USB default configuration mode to MTP

Hi,

Everytime I connect my Keyone to my PC the USB configuration mode is always set to charging. How do I set the default to MTP so my computer can find my phone right away instead going into the developer option settings and switching the mode from charging to MTP manually?

Without going into Developer mode...

Settings->Connected devices->USB->MTP

However, MTP is crap. It's intermittent and prone to random pauses.
