Some tricks the Priv users on their thread are doing. Many are very pleased with the results.

Makes me think how much more battery life Keyone'ers can get by going to 720p? I might play around this weekend with the settings and try out 720x1080 at 300ppi as a starting point.

    Do you really need it?

My Samsung S7 has a Power Saving feature - HD 1280x720, FHD 1920x1080 and WQHD2560x1440.... estimated there is only a 2HR difference between the highest and lowest setting. Biggest battery savers in that app are screen brightness, CPU limiter, Always on Display, App monitor (put apps not needed to sleep).

I think for PRIV users it lessens up the load on the SoC - CPU/GPU, which helps all around.

Please correct the link as it lands in the PRIV forum not a specific thread!?

I played around with the resolution to save battery life. I did get a little more from the battery, but there was a small rendering issue with almost every app in one way or another. sometimes it took a few days to realise what they were. An example of this is when editing text and using the trackpad, the editing arrow would be out of line. Not really a problem, but it did get a slightly annoying.

This on your Keyone I assume? What dpi or ppi did you use?

I forget now, but it was the next level down. I also played with the refresh rate - dropped it down to 30. whilst the resolution and refresh rate changes did affect the image quality, it was very still usable, and I mostly didn't notice the deterioration.

I did this on my PRIV just because of the extreme heating. But on my KEYone it's not an issue at all. Also the resolution is fairly normal and I wouldn't reduce it any further.
