The only way is to surf and talk is to be connected to WiFi at the same time. UGH...what a bummer.
I thought that was a CDMA limitation. One of the reasons I went to AT&T back in the day. Being on WIFI would allow both.

On AT&T I've held conference calls while surfing the web even on an old BB 9800.

There is no option for wifi calling in settings anywhere I can find.

It was. No issue now if your phone has the hardware and is Verizon branded.

On the GSM version, it's under Settings/More/Wi-Fi calling menu...

What are you talking about? Stop twisting people's words now that someone got a device delivered to them on the 12th. All people were talking about is that the device was not available or even shipped to amazon when BlackBerry mobile said it would be. Nobody said it would never ever come.
There's a whole thread about it not being available until July and that BlackBerry Mobile knew that. It's more likely that the shipment was simply late (45-65 days is the range for products from China) since it must have arrived at Amazon's distribution center within a week of the launch if it is landing on doorsteps now.

All fine and dandy. This was the day before the 31st. Product should already be shipped and be in distributors' warehouses and BlackBerry Mobile should know whether it is or not before putting out a press release about it being available the next day. Anyways that's all done now but no matter how you slice it, it was done poorly no matter what the reason was.

I agree the press release was a screw up. Probably drafted and approved weeks earlier and the PR team never thought to reconfirm, and the ops team didn't know it was going out.

A miss of 12 days, compared to the six months for the Verizon version of yesteryear...

Of course, the speedy delivery means more work on the customer to get all the features working. Perhaps the collective of CrackBerry will result in a definitive guide to getting everything to work on Verizon. AT&T users seem to need a guide too. T-Mobile seems to just work, as far as LTE and Wi-Fi Calling.

Unless Verizon carries the phone or allows those features that will kill it for me. He calling is nice but it's the WiFi calling I need. Steel buildings and old courthouse basements make for lousy reception

the older phones like the Q10 and Z30 didn't have to have HD calling to surf and call at the same time, it just worked. The newer phones like the priv require it, not sure why. someone might be able to explain technically like number or type of antennae.

I don't think my Z30 could talk and surf at the same time. Maybe that was my location and the towers around me.

Edit : it could. It was after I changed to straight talk that it wouldn't.

You're going to need to call Amazon and tell them you ordered the CDMA version which is BBB100-3. You can't activate the GSM version on Verizon
