    Total conjecture on my part but I'm sure that CBK must be meeting with TCL. What could that mean with regards to a sales channel? I sure do remember when for a brief time the KEYᵒⁿᵉ was listed in the Crackberry Shop.

    China is a country filled with superstitions as are many other places. the 8th was chosen because it is a lucky number there. no beginning or end. number like infinity symbol turned on its side.

    You can't have a BlackBerry Mobile event without BlackBerry in some way. You're reading too much into it.

    I talk to Kevin about this in waterloo back in May. Too labor intensive with Warrenty stuff. He said "1k units or something , ya never know. " full distribution ...unlikely.

    Seems like a Blackberry mobile event since they have bought the licensing. BlackBerry does provide the OS...so they are involved to an extent

    So a number is lucky in chinese culture based on how it looks in western culture? Lmao do you realize they have a completely different character for 8 than an "infinity symbol on its side" .

    It has nothing to do with how it looks. It is lucky because the chinese word for "8" sounds like the chinese word for "wealth".

    The OS is Android!!! Blackberry is the design, unreliable security updates and some apps.
    The title of the event should've been "Black is Back" . "Black back" is just a bad translation of something and ended up being the name of the event. Not good. No proof-readers?

    Exactly!!! For those really superstitious, the numeral "8" is requested for addresses, cell numbers, lottery, etc. For those individuals more traditional usually gets into this!
