I use a typical USB cigarette plug adapter with a basic eBay USB C cable that use to give me a pretty good charge. Not as good as my Quick Charger from Amazon, but decent.

Lately it's been awful. Anyone know what the issue likely is? Is the cable probably just worn out or could it be the "box" ?

    Thanks!

Many cheap car chargers are only 1A (or even .5A) at 5V - 1A @ 5V = 5 watts - which would take hours to charge a battery ASSUMING the screen was off and you weren't using the GPS.

A quick-charger will not only go up to 2.4A at 5V (12 watts), but will increase the voltage up to 9V (at 2A, typically), which means 18 watts.

So, it's not at all surprising that you might not be getting great performance out of the car chager.

I recommend a QC3 charger from Aukey or Anker for the car. You can get them for around $10 from Amazon. I have a dual-port model - $17 from Amazon.

BTW, I've paired most of my chargers with these cables, so that I can charge anything I need to charge.

I've got lots of devices (headsets, BT speakers, etc.) that still use micro-USB, and even a couple of things that use mini-USB, so it's great not to have to switch cables or track down the right type.

It's definitely worth trying a new cable.
I find it usually fixes charging speed.

    LOL. Sorry.

They sell them one-at-a-time for $7.99, but you'll definitely want to buy the 2-packs for $9.99 here:

    And here's the charger:

It was indeed just the cable! The car chargers always ware out much faster I find assumable because of all the moving around they see versus on a desk etc. Back to fast charging!
