I just grabbed a Bell KeyOne, paid in full with a month to month, walked out and slammed my Virgin card in and low and behold it works... these devices aren't locked lol.
Carrier issued phones are usually locked to their network whether it's Bell-Virgin, Rogers-Fido or Telus-Koodo. Try putting a Rogers or Telus SIM in it.

Virgin shares Bell network. Try a Telus or Rogers Sim. Very likely it won't work.

I bought my Keyone from Bell today for $699. I am on Virgin Mobile so had to buy a one month plan for $25. I will have it unlocked shortly. I took my sim from my DTEK 50 and had to buy a new SD card. Still setting things up. First impression is that the phone is much smaller than I had imagined, and it is not instant love like with my Classic.

I just noticed on Shop CrackBerry that they've got unlocked KEYones available for pre-orders for those of you looking to buy unlocked and are patient enough to wait a few days (weeks???).

Wouldn't it be nice to have a head's up before some of us went out to buy at carriers? I feel peeved at this. This launch has been a dog's breakfast mess. First time I have felt so annoyed with CB.

The dimensions of the BlackBerry KEYone Have been publicly available for months. In my opinion, this smartphone is the ideal size for its intended user base.

I ordered my Key1 this evening through Rogers.... Off tab. They gave me a $120.00 loyalty discount! 3 to 5 days to show up. I'm happy. Now I need to sell some of my other phones. I have WAY too many in my desk.

A trip to my local mall revealed only one dummy KEYone on display.. At Bell. Looks very premium to me.

Why do you need to unlock it? Your Virgin SIM should work in your Bell phone since it's all the same network.

also just picked up another on craigslist from someone that selling an unwanted hardware upgrade got that for a great deal unlocked it and sending it to the states

Check craigslist if you are having trouble finding one in store then just unlock it if it's from a different network

I got mine from unlocked-mobiles.com - I paid around CAD762 for the phone + FedEx Priority shipping (1 - 2 business day) and had to pay import duty for CAD94. It ended up a bit more expensive with the import duty but at that time I just wanted to get my hands on KEYone asap and avoid any launching day dramas here in Canada (I still think I made the right decision ).

I have used blackberrycodesource.com and no issues. I have unlocked over 15 devices. Sometimes there can be a delay of a day or so to get the code but they have always come through
I am waiting mine from them. Once done I will post here.
