I have a PRIV and K1, both bought from Amazon UK. The last security patch I got for the K1 was 5 July (AAM481) and for the PRIV was 5 Aug (AAN335). Is there any way I can force the phones to download the Sept security patch manually as I am not getting anything via the automatic update function. Thanks

There might be a way… but we still need somebody with a backup of his phone willing to try it out. If you're interested, please read here: https://forums.crackberry.com/showth...1#post13019136

Thurask, it has probably been asked before but what is different about the Priv (or reverse the KeyOne) that allows one and not the other?

The KEYone uses TCL's update system, while the Priv uses the regular Google Android system. This explains the separate "Updater" app. Using the separate update system means device images are obtained from TCL via the mobile upgrade tool, rather than being supplied on some website like they are for other devices. That means loaders can be made as soon as they are available from the mobile upgrade tool (i.e. being pushed OTA) rather than waiting for BlackBerry/TCL/whoever to put up autoloaders.
