Finally and welcome to the future of Blackberry. Oreo will likely come out sometime next year around March or April and it also depends which carriers will get it first. Unlocked devices will most likely see it rolling out sooner but either way, Oreo is coming...

Although I'm totally satisfied with Nougat, we should be seeing it sometime after the new year.

problem is these kind of announcements scare loyal customers away especially with vague "promises" to bring oreo sometime soon without some solid dates. Blackberry fans concerned with security and device longevity will be turning to the Pixel

Of course. Its relevant to bring up what they are supporting when theyre killing off not just bb10 but more importantly the Priv which is a pretty recent phone and reflects their new android approach. It would not hurt them to make some less vague comments about the keyone and motion to assure loayal customers that they are making the right choice sticking with them. The way they are doing things makes them seem very weak overall.

And its been said that the KEYone will receive Oreo. As for the "Loayal customers " goes....well that is debatable.

if they can provide specific dates of when they will stop supporting older phones they should be able to provide a specific date for when they will be supporting a new OS update

Any non-flagship phone carries a max of two years of support. They don't really need to provide an exact date for EOL. There have literally been phones that were EOL, officially or unofficially, less than a year from release. Sometimes that is known by the manufacturer before release, sometimes after. I would say all they owe the customer is honoring the warranty.

Guess you wrote for the sake of writing. They already provided dates for that... I was saying they can do the same for when oreo will begin to be supported by BlackBerry

I don't think they owe customers a date or time line of when a planned future update will be released. There is such a thing as unexpected delays. And when they happen, anyone who expected it to be out on time will be whining and there will be 1k more posts like this one.
