I cant for the life of me find the screen to toggle turning off run in background.

I know it's there because I was playing with the setting twice!

I feel so dumb right now

The latest update to Power Center mentioned that, but I couldn't find it wither. I use the Running Services feature in Developer Options to control that.

The frustrating thing is that it actually appeared twice and I now I can't find it!

This also happened to me. I can't figure out how to directly get into the screen, but if you go to settings and do a search on "background" it'll show up at the bottom.

lol funny enough I think there are 2 setting pages to turn off background running for apps. one is within the android setting as shown on the screen shots above the other is in Blackberry power center. let me see if I can get into it again and I'll screen shot it

Look like the search for "background" within settings is a better method

I have used the kind of hard to find battery optimization under settings battery/setting (3 dots)/battery optimization-all apps. But I'm a bit afraid to mess with some of the system apps listed there. I thought that it might help my jumpy cell signal if I "not optimized" some of the antenna related apps. Would be nice if Blackberry could provide some system app profiles in power center for those of us who prefer to emphasize signal reliability over battery life. Same for music streaming as I and others have had our phones "sleep" while playing music in the car.

@sandyhois this is not the setting that is being referenced by this thread. There is another setting under power center that turns off or stops specific apps from running in the background. It's different than the battery optimization you stated.

Here are screenshots of the new power center option. It popped up on my phone last night because of Instagram. But I still don't see a way to automatically get into it. It seems a bit different then the normal background application setting.

I can't get this update to do anything. When first installed, it kept notifying me on every app I didn't exit almost immediately and now it won't do anything.

Problem is you cannot get into that setting without being warned about battery drain first. Very weird software design.

Are you sure?? I can get into this screen by pressing the round white button (with 6 periods) that sits just above the "O" capacitive key on the main menu page.

I have the latest update too.

Which main menu page? The Apps button? If so, from there where do you get the settings?

We all know how to get into the power center app. This thread about how do we get into the app management setting, that they just added to the power center app. So far it's only accessible when it flags an app using too much power.

Exactly. And mine has stopped flagging anything, which is preventing me from accessing the settings.
