So, then this would be the notification LED?
I would like to think it's in that black hole with the light sensor.

On the downside of going from a DTEK50, you'll get a smaller screen, no notification LED, and won't be able to enter text in a horizontal mode.
In this video, the guy described that dot you circled in the photo as the notification LED

Also, before the 50, I came from a Bold, so I really don't mind the smaller screen and horizontal typing at all. It's safe to say that my smartphone needs/expectations are highly manageable hehe.

Thanks, I missed it the first time. Also, Conite said that Bla1ze has "confirmed" there is a notification LED.

The Mercury looks like it will be about the same width as the DTEK50 and a bit shorter than the DTEK60.

I Iike my Dtek50 but I wish it was a tad thinner. I think it would make it a bit easier to hold and manipulate. I hope the Mercury is a bit thinner.

I really really hope Blackberry finds the common sense to place some high end specs into this device. With the direction that android devices are going it wont be able to compete in the market place otherwise. We want high end specs and we are willing to pay for it expecially if its going to run Nougat. Im hoping or will be sticking with my current device, The google pixel xl128gb.

Specifically, the DTEK 50-60 features a single color LED (red, I think). I have gotten used to BB's use of RGB LED to deliver custom notifications while the screen is asleep. Is there any word that Mercury will have the RGB? If so, that is important enough for me to jump. Since they are planning a Verizon version, it would make sense to buy one since I'm still using a Verizon Z10.

I agree with you 100% I really like my Dtek50 so if the specs are similar I don't think the keyboard will be enough to make me switch. If it is a better phone I will likely be a buyer.

I think with TCL making this and supposedly a tribute type phone that it should be "special" in some regard. If it is a reflection on past phones you would anticipate some things that BB diehards have come to appreciate. However not being a true BB phone maybe there will be some pleasant surprises. For me there is the software. However in general terms it was always the build quality. Passport , Bolds, Classics, always felt good to hold and use, just felt good in the hand.
