Nothing happens when I tap on Blackberry Launcher or tap Open from my apps in the Google Play Stare.

    Any suggestions?

Reboot your device to complete the installation.
If that doesn't do it, uninstall the launcher ,reboot, then download and reinstall a new copy,. reboot.

Well, good news and bad news: rebooting did nothing, but reinstalling worked EXCEPT virtually all the home screen icons are now gone...four pages worth!

    What's up w that?

I take it back. It opened, updated...then the home screen icons disappeared...now, it won't open again.

It should have been said at the beginning that deleting the launcher will delete all your home screens and apps unfortunately. I would delete it again then reinstall it. When you know it's working start recreating your home screens again. PITA I know but that's the only way. I know because it happened to me.

Every time I reinstall it, it stops working. I can't set short tap shortcuts, for example.

    Help!

    So, the "Answer" is to:

    1) Long press on an open space from the home screen

    2) Press the settings icon

    3) Under "typing action," make sure "use a short-press keyboard shortcut is activated (mine already was, so this wasn't the problem)

    4) GO down 1 row to "Keyboard Shortcuts" and tap on it to open Keyboard shortcuts. Then, tap on the short press column, and voila, you will see all the short-press options. Why this is different from going to the keyboard shortcuts from the keyboard shortcut icon on the home screen, I have no idea.

While we're on the subject of "Launched" If you recall, they used to be 'released" to the public.
In the tradition of change, the next questionable announcement will say something in the way of :
"You can expect the Krypton to be "Hurled" out on X/XX/XXXX !

Well, Come on!!! Launch is so KEYone!! Blackberry Launcher won't open?-0269.gif
