Guys how sure are we that this is legit?

    - The domain didn't exist between 2013 and now
    - The domain has just been renewed for a year
    - The site is not https; no one does that in 2017
    - The first page does not load properly; no index

The rest appear ok - but these do stand out!
I also wasn't sure if this site was legit but since they do cash on delivery, I decided to put in a order.
Here is the email that I received:
BlackBerry KEYone India now taking orders-capture.png
    It looks bit simple...

I also emailed Optiemus to confirm if they are the official distributor.
According to Linkedin, the email provided by BlackBerry® – black berry belongs to Shivani Bhargava - GM, Head Enterprise Sales for BlackBerry Handsets.

I read that Keyone in India was suppose to be priced at Rs. 39,999.
    What do you guys think?

Gotta work with the market. They might actually be able to unload a few.

Maybe the "black limited edition" is a loss-leader to generate buzz.
Or it's just a lower profit margin, closer to the true BOM. Heck, Priv's were being sold at $300 direct at the bitter end, which was probably near cost.

You still have to cover your overhead at some point. It's also nice to make a few bucks for the shareholders too.

I still suspect that if this is legit, it's a very limited time offer.

Optiemus has a license from BlackBerry to build and sell BlackBerry branded phones in India. A similar deal to the Indonesian one, except in this case it is clear Optiemus is assembling the TCL designed KEYone.

Well... they can't offer a better version of the phone in a lower price and keep selling to the rest of the world for a higher price! So, if this is happening I'd expect this to not be limited!

Two different "theys" two different markets, even if it does appear to be the same phone.

Sure - but practically it's the same market!
Anyone can easily get the indian version which is better than the silver!

It's only being sold within India and paid for upon delivery; "easily" assumes one knows someone in country, or that there'd be a healthy resale market, or that the rumors of the black edition for other countries would come true.

I only assumed that they target a specific group of people with this phone that most probably has such connections, perhaps I'm mistaken! I know I do, and I see others do too

As I said, perhaps I'm mistaken, or we're just a minority!

In any case it only made sense to me and I posted it!

    I do see your point!

Dual Sim. Carriers in the US would probably no allow it on their networks!!!!
Wouldn't it work to just pop a T-Mobile or AT&T Sim into a slot? I heard it works with them.

I doubt this would be an issue in Canada, but given the restrictive practices of some US carriers, it could be an issue if they only allow certain specific model numbers on their network. While the Indian KEYone appears to be very similar to the BBB100-1 North American GSM version, it has a different model number (BBB100-6 or-7?).
