I don't think TCL have money for paratek antennas.
I literally work in a dungeon, underground and surrounded by concrete and steel.
My Passport never had any difficulties with signal but my S7 Edge struggles with reception on most days
I'd be curious to know if the KeyONE has the Paratek antenna too and if so, I'd seriously consider it given my workplace.
I'm sure people like jerryrigeverything on YouTube will post a vid on a KEYONE teardown when he gets the phone. Like to see the guts of the device also.

are you in the location that have limited frequency access - coverage? (number of the bands). what is your device? Assume is not international version - that has more bands. Assume your handset is GSM? and what carrier? T-Mobil?
That's because you're traveling to a different area altogether so your bands/service will certainly differ when compared to your normal/domestic carrier's area.
I'm a truck driver. I run Canada/USA from Alberta to mid west..I'm not always on highway. The Sim card is t-mobile
It should not matter as it suppose to be better with the paratek antena
You have the best job! You can go anywhere in US and Canada. So cool!
Right, but never home. Kind of get on some nerves from time to time
AA, I see, you might want to change to either ATT or VZ, it might help, you missing 850 for 3G US Wireless Carrier Bands: Cheat Sheet
nice job. really go places.
I beg to differ. It made a tremendous difference on my z30
I'm in the same boat. My z30 4till struggled at times but was still much better than others phones down here. My priv isn't as good. What shines for me on the priv is that I can use WiFi calling and that works like a charm
While in the USA , it becomes a company phone. So, I have no choice of carrier.
Poor reception with the K1 compared to S7 in the same locatikn...not good
I've seen a few people say this. Is this all T-Mobile users? Seems like it might be an issue there that someone here seems to have fixed. I would look around the forums.
I'm hoping some Canadian KeyONE users on the Rogers network can give some insight into the KeyOne's reception in tricky areas...if it's any better than other phones.
Well I'm Sasktel with the KEYone and have had no issues.
The Silver Edition Passport has a special design antenna.
And I have no issues with my Keyone in the UK on Vodafone.
I would say that so far living in deepest darkest Devon in the UK where reception isn't the best on any network my Keyone is better than my classic is and upthere if not better than my old q10 which was rather good.
I'm in the UK and I agree as I don't have reception issues. Handsets with network support are usually tested before being accepted. But as the K1 is sold mainly as SIM free it may not have been tested in all geographies.
My Keyone was nowhere near as reliable as my Classic or my Priv.
YMMV
I can confirm that this is true as well. I returned my VZW Keyone for reasons which included poor reception and call quality... even in the NYC area. I eventually went back to my trusty Z30.
