    Hello,

Reading through CB there was a post that said that direct buy would be possible in June. Do we have anymore information regarding how and more specifically when? Following social media and I've come up with no new leads.

    Cheers!

Not yet. If there was, you likely wouldn't need to ask.

I walked into a Best Buy in Alberta yesterday just to ask about the K1. indeed they knew about it but didn't have any in stock. when I asked about buying one unlocked they fold me that I could buy one but that it would have to be locked to a contract with a specific carrier. they would not sell me a phone outright unless I committed to a contract.

    That's right.

Better off buying from CB unlocked

Here's the thing I find super confusing and actually makes my blood boil. It's really at the sales reps discretion whether he/she wants to forfeit their commission signing you up on a contract and actually sell you a mobile phone off contract. The way around this is to set up a pay as you go account and get the device off contract pricing. However, they are crafty and usually will charge a setup or activation fee. I deal with a ROgers PLus store and they are corporate and will sell you a device off contract.
