Design choices I suppose.
The phones aren't just "made" by another company - they are designed, manufactured, stocked, marketed, distributed, sold, and supported by other companies. BlackBerry of old is just a software vendor to its licencees.
There is no name or marking on the front of my AT&T KEYone but anyone that see this phone and the keyboard automatic say "Is that a Blackberry."
I like it better without it to be honest.
