    From Berry Link CN.

the news is in Chinese, but it seems a variant of the Keyone will be release in China with different colors and 4 gig of rams.

    网络爆料:国行版黑莓KEYone将有全黑 本 硬件配置有提升

Le texte traduit du Chinois par google trad : "From the network @ Dragon II _VD exclusive broke the news that (here), the national version of the BlackBerry KEYone will be the world's first full black version, and in the hardware configuration to upgrade to 4GB of system memory and 64GB of storage memory (normal version of 3GB +32 GB). The price will be a "plus no increase" of the industry conscience price.

Then the boyfriend @ wild horse brother released a KEYone black version and silver version of the keyboard contrast photos, although he said the picture is their own PS, but because of his microblogging identity (BlackBerry China Digital Marketing senior manager), credible The degree is still very large."

There seems to be no credible source on that article, similar to a rumour that was posted about a 4GB version in India a while ago. https://forums.crackberry.com/blackb...india-1113675/ Nothing has come of that.

Taking this report with a large grain of salt.

Would not be surprised at all as other OEMS do this strategy of variants of devices not just colors but higher specs. Finally TLC can do it with BlackBerry devices. China, India, etc...massive markets!

Seems a little fishy to me. No BlackBerry logo on the back (but that could be any number of reasons) and the Google play store which isn't supported in China (although it could be a Hong Kong model, or have some sort of international rom).

I would laugh if this was actually a bootleg, but if course like all the best bootlegs, the parts used are the real ones. (because all the factories are located in China anyway.)

    Either way, we'll see.

And... the article states that the pics are now believed to be of a test model -- not a retail version.

saw it too. seems legit, at least as a test device. i'm wondering if they will put some restrictions on the phone to stop user from using Google services though

Seems a little off, but releasing a phone with more RAM in China seems to have become standard practice for many OEMs.

Apparently one of the reasons is due to the heavy amount of High Fidelity Games they play there on their phones, something like 134 of the 200 most popular games are high quality GPU and RAM intensive games.

One has to have more RAM to compete in China.

I'm not a big fan of black phones, but I must say - this one looks nice. It's also the third rumored all-black device after similar speculation/news in Korea and Brazil. Something's clearly afoot.

    This.

Regarding the lack of a logo, I suppose we have to remember that TCL testing procedures may be very different to those of BlackBerry. This one's fairly conspicuous, but it adds less authenticity to leaks.

If all these news are true, I think to have different versions for different markets is just a completely crazy and confusing strategy, especially since they can't seem to to even fulfill production for their first one. I live in India so I'm waiting to see what the local plans are but I would be real pissed off if I was in the U.S. or Canada, seeing other versions proliferate.
