I have tried looking around for ideas to stretch the battery life, a lot of which I had already done. One think I found was to adjust display resolution. I've tried to look for youtube videos, no luck so far. I enabled Developer mode, but can't find anything there either.

Can someone explain it like I'm an idiot of how to reduce the screen resolution please?

KEYᵒⁿᵉ was shipped with Android 7, and was updated to Android 8.1.

You don't want to reduce screen resolution - it's not that high to begin with.
