Ok, so I noticed recently that my WhatsApp is saving pics and videos I open and saving them to my google photos. How do I stop this annoying occurrence! I have checked settings in the app and am at a loss. Is it a phone general settings thing? Help please, this is driving me nuts. Thanks in advance.

Question: Do you not want to save them at all? Or you want to control where they are saved?

Doesn't Google Photo just show all images, not distinguishing where they are saved (although I think you can locate specific folders?)

Thanks for the reply. I do not want to save them at all. I believe I can always long press on the video or pic to save it manually.

Whatsapp doesn't have an option to not save media. You'll just have to go into your file manager and delete whatsapp images and videos every once in a while.

Ok, must have looked in settings before my morning coffee. Media auto download was set to all on WiFi. Turned it off, all should be good now. Live and learn I guess!

That's just to automatically download them. When you open them yourself, they'll still save in whatsapp folder on your device whether its autodownload or just you manually looking at each picture. I believe that is the case anyways.
