Still kinda surprised they haven't just released the Passport SE with the same internals... but with Android.
Maybe because a 2017 Android device with a 801 CPU (from BlackBerry to boot) would be crucified in the media. That's my guess. Even though it would probably work just fine.

Not if it's selling for $499 (US) or even $449 (US)....

Just put an Apple logo on the back of it and have it do well on a bunch of arbitrary benchmark tests. You'll be fine.
I don't think that an Android device in Passport Form Factor will fly due to aspect ratio issues with most of the Apps.
Will people stop propagating this for ****s sake? Every single one of the Android apps I used on the Passport except for 1 scaled absolutely perfectly.
Surprisingly android apps work really well on the passport. Impressive work from BlackBerry or just really well made apps? Who knows
Just simply code. If developers code their apps correctly the app will scale fine. Yet I see it everyday in these forums people saying Android would be terrible on a Passport because THERE's NO 1:1 APPS!!!!

I'm always amused by those who criticize a product that out sells the product they currently lose. iPhone sells more in a week than every BB device combined can sell in a year. Can you say Fanboi?
I heard a rumor that BlackBerry is working together with Google to make a hybrid OS that will come after Marshmallow. The hub will be integrated into the OS. I got that rumor from my plant. It's very smart.
I hope this delay of the Vienna means that the device will be slightly different from the renders that leaked a while back.
Specifically I'm hoping that it doesn't have the keyboard design of the PRIV but the keyboard design of the Classic/9900. I still believe that is the best feeling keyboard of all time and best for productive typing.

What delay? When did BlackBerry ever claim it was coming at MWC or ever even acknowledge it?
Based off rumour chat.... if you've been keeping up with the rumours...
I know what it's based on but its pretty clear that it was just another Internet "expert blogger" which means absolutely nothing. Anyone can claim whatever they want.
And how does it become a "delay" based on nothing?
Blackberry Central is more creditable than most other websites, given that a least one of the people at Blackberry Central is a blackberry elite member.
I think the delay is good and with a change of code names I hope that means an upgrade in components like cpu and camera. If you think about it a late 2016 release put it close to the 2 year mark for classic owners, who this device is geared toward anyway.

So what? Like I said, why is it a delay? Logic would dictate that BlackBerry wouldn't release another device 3 months after the Priv released before it even made it on all US carriers.
