Has anyone noticed how slow it has become for APPs to download and install since upgrade to Oreo? Also, although I have "Automatic Updating" toggled I frequently get tons of APPs updating at the same time. For instance yesterday Google Play was calling for 32 to be updated. Before O I would get one or two updating. Not a whole wack of them.

My app updating is fine, no differences between Nougat and Oreo.

exactly the same on my K1, a lot of updates are waiting, installing of a new app takes ages.

I don't wanna spend my time/energy investigating it but it's strange.

It appears common.
We have 2 devices, my wife’s on release OS works fine. My device on beta OS no so much.
That said, I found that a hard reboot will fix my device for a week or so.

the updates from playstore are quick enough to download and install, but I do notice they seem to come in groups rather than cribs and crabs... maybe google is doing it ?

The updates sometimes come in multiples and sometimes just one. I've never noticed a pattern of any sort. It's more a matter of timing.

I have to agree it seems that are bunched together instead of one's and towsies. Perhaps it's the telco's that are releasing them that way.

I agree, random, sometimes groups, some times singles. No pattern.
I do notice, having 2 indentical devices, that sometimes one will get an update, while the other won’t get the same update for sometimes days.

OK now 5 days later there are still 7 APPs needing to update. 5 days ago I had 32 needing to update. I leave my phone on 24/7 and sometimes overnight only 1 updates. this is excruciatingly slow. and ever since Oreo update. Why?

Have you tried signing out of your primary Google account, clearing the cache on Google, rebooting then signing back in? this procedure was recommended by @Bla1se and it worked for me.

Or have you tried clearing Google Play Store cache, force stopping the App, then hard rebooting your device?
