it's blackberrys decision , I think it will be a 50/50 that we will get it.
android doesnt decide they just make the software what happens after that is up to your carrier or manufacturer
It's TCLs decision probably. But keep in mind, they're not great at releasing OS updates. I don't think the Idol 4 or 4S have Nougat still.
If they update the Priv to Nougat, then maybe the KeyOne will get O. But you are likely looking at this time next year for it.
I'm sure tcl has some say in the software but ultimately blackberry is the one who controls it and distributes it to the devices.
Nope, BlackBerry only provides their flavor of software. TCL is responsible for pushing upgrades to each device.
Regardless if it's TCL or BBRY... Priv Dtek 50 & 60 don't have Nougat either lol. Enjoy Nougat on the K1 fellas. It's gonna be a while before you get Android O... If at all
Perhaps on the next TCL built BlackBerry Phone this winter
It's not something you'll have to anticipate this year. O will drop late Aug/Sept if we go by last years Nougat and BB Android O will take 4+ months. There are less interesting user facing features in O besides 'Picture in Picture', but alot happening underneath like Project Treble for a new OS update scheme that TCL/BB will have to digest.
Most likely O will debut in whatever the first BB Mobile phone of 2018 model will be whether a slab or the followup to KeyOne.
I currently use a pixel until my KeyOne arrives in a couple days and signed up to Beta Android O. It's buggy but really no difference between it and nougat except it adds a voice reading function which also is buggy and doesn't work for ****.
Granted it's beta and early but so far I'd say you aren't missing anything.
Judging from previous device, I think they will always say can't comment on that lol , or need more hardening take time bla..bla..
I have a feeling that the K1 will get Android O update around the same time the Priv gets Nougat.
Oh, so never?
Never.... Lol
😂 Agreed. Moreover if Android O is more resource intensive than N it will be better to stay with current version given that K1 is a mid tier phone hardware wise. Maybe dtek60 is more suited for Android O
