It's under $280 on Amazon now and I've been thinking about a second line.

Same boat. I'm thinking about selling my silver K1 and buying a black edition. Watch, this thread will drive up the price lol
I think security updates are guaranteed until summer 2020, so still a pretty good bet. Oreo is as good as it will get OS wise though.
I have a Key² through work, but if I had to buy now I would go for a Key1 BE based on price.
I vote yes. As a second line, you may get away with buying the silver keyone. Depends on what the second line is used for but either one would be a yes for me.
Not crazy... I just bought the BE KEYone last week and setup on Tuesday on AT&T line replacing my AT&T Space Black 3/32 KEYone and worth every dollar. I believe you're looking at same version I bought on Amazon with a new in box, smashed box for $20-30 cheaper. I don't care about the box...
IMHO, KEYone BE is the the only BB device is worth buying today.
KEYone BE has overall better hardware then KEY2 LE and is twice cheaper.
On 280$ price tag pay double/triple for KEY2 basically just for the speed key by losing shift key.. it is for you to decide if its worth it.
So yeah, you are not crazy 😜
no. very good phone. you're not out that much $$ and can resell if you don't like it.
I bought the Keyone Black Edition from my employer. It was a few months old and in mint condition. Scratchless and as new. Paid € 80 for it. I still use my BlackBerry Classic in parallel as it is so much more convenient to use. In fact, I love both phones. It took me 3 good weeks to get used to Android and even today I cannot understand why BlackBerry 10 disappeared from the market.
The Keyone Black Edition is a great phone nevertheless. I can recommend it. It is build like a tank and feels very superior.

Make sure it's not a BBB100-7 with PRD-63764-002 from Indonesia.. there are no updates since June 2018...
I was able to get an unlocked keyone for as little as $90 off of eBay. I had been lugging around an iPhone 5 for a couple years and man its good to finally be back I will never go back to Apple.
Lack of developer support led to lack of consumer support which led to huge losses which led to market disappearance...
KeyOne BE is indeed still a good bet.
Best batterie capacity for a Blackberry, Android Oreo with yet more than a year of security patchs, and the RAM setup is more than enough for pretty much everything.
And as bonus, the K1 does better shots than the K2. [emoji12]
is it worth it to switch from silver keyone to BE?
I'm probably going to do it just for the looks... silver edition is super ugly, but it's all that was available when I was in the market for a phone a few years back.
Yes, at the lower price, definitely since you’re going from 3/32 to 4/64 but don’t waste time buying used. Buy it new for the warranty return privileges since pretty low price now on Amazon or BestBuy retailers.
You are not crazy. Excellent PKB smartphone. Operates exceptionally well.
I have an 32gb SD card and I don't store that many photos. Spending $200 plus just for an extra gig of ram?
I don’t like external storage as much as the cloud. My internal storage fills up with the various apps I use and other stuff that doesn’t back up to external storage. The extra GB of RAM isn’t really necessary for me either. I wanted to see how much call quality and coverage I was giving up moving from AT&T carrier locked to BE factory unlocked and cost difference from unlocked SE to BE wasn’t that much. It was cheaper than Key2 LE which I also considered and is only 4/64 like BE that I got.
Just inquired to the seller to see what model they're selling. They're selling the BBB100-7. No good for me in Upstate New York. Just asked two more sellers with reasonable prices. Will see what they come back with.
Yeah from what I'm seeing the BB100-7 is the model considerably reduced in price here in Canada whereas, the BB100-01 (CAD) still retains a hefty price tag of $699-$759... Think it was $799 at launch. If the price were comparable to the US pricing ($400 CAD) I'd consider one but otherwise nope. Staples.ca had the Silver KEYone reduced to $299 recently so don't think we are off base w/$400.

This link should take you to proper version.
Yup, that's it! I inquired to that seller and they assured me that if I ordered that phone, I would receive model BBB100-7. Seller is A1 Global Corp. I need the BBB100-1. So that's a no sale.
The seller is the problem on this. I bought the Amazon deal listed with damaged box and the seller is Amazon itself and I got the BBB100-1 for use in great state of FL last week.
Still waiting for the other two sellers to respond and see what model they're selling. Definitely not ordering it from A1 though.
I bought my BE KeyOne new from DigJungle on Amazon and it was / is Amazon Prime eligible. Mine was brand new undamaged unit. It is the NA/Canada -1 single SIM version. It's presently listed for 279. From my research I would stay away from the -7 dual SIM as that is the Indian version.
