Here is the AAY819 Autoloader (May 5 2018 patch level) for the KEYᵒⁿᵉ.

It should work on most devices apart from AT&T, Sprint, and China.

Remove passwords, reboot to fastboot mode, and run batch file of your choice (wipe or no-wipe).

Sometimes, the phone can get stuck when booting for the first time. If this happens to you, make sure you've waited long enough, and then just hold the power button down to force a reboot. Should be fine after that.

    Use at your own risk.

Once again, thanks @jcrutchvt2010 for providing the original template.

Thank you. Just installed this on my UK KeyOne and it installed fine.

One odd thing however: Under Settings / Apps / (cog) / Special access, there used to be an option for "Background access" which listed the apps allowed to run in the background. That seems to have disappeared between the Feb update and this one -- not sure if that's intentional?

From what I can see, there doesn't seem to be an alternative way to stop apps from running in the background anymore.

It looks like I am behind the curve. In the Power Center app, there is an option for "Manage automatic apps" which appears to support limiting background processes.

Good for apps like Facebook which one uses infrequently.

Yup, you answered your own question. Lol.

That feature was moved to Power Centre a few months ago.

Here's a BitTorrent link to @conite's AAY819Universal.7z file. Just paste it into your client.

BitTorrent is often faster than downloading from the web. If you don't have a BT client yet then a good one is qbittorrent: https://www.fosshub.com/qBittorrent.html

Good luck. You might want to delete the space in the link between "tr" and "acker" -- the forum software inserted it and doesn't support removing it.

God BlackBerry really stinks with its security updates. My mother's Moto G5plus is on the April patch, meanwhile my unlocked BE K1 is still on February. We really shouldn't be forced to do these autoloaders if we want the latest patch. /endrant

I look at it as glass half full. At least we CAN update with no-wipe autoloaders.

    Most others aren't so lucky.

I just wish there was a beta opt in of OS updates like Microsoft did with windows mobile (during their extended murder of the Lumia brand). One of the things they got right.

In the same way as I buy a PC and my updates are not controlled by my ISP, the phones we buy now are computers in their own right and no ISP(carrier) should have any say on software releases.

Especially Vodafone who, in the UK have a network which consists of two cans and a long piece of string.

That should be BlackBerry new marketing tagline rather than bragging about how secure their devices are.

Things will change with Treble and with Google's new quick update requirement.

Yeah. But you'd think BlackBerry would want to do that since security was their differentiator. So if OEMs will have to do this, then what is left for BlackBerry other than a keyboard.

There is a LOT more to BlackBerry Android security than the patches. But that's a topic for another thread.

Edit: Google Pay works for the BBB100-1.

My WiFi might have taken a crap for a second :/
