Haven't had my phone a month yet, and already I managed to get a giant gouge chipped out of the top. My lovely Atomic Red LE is now mostly red, with a big black chunk staring at me.

Any ideas on getting touch up paint or something to cover this up?

Can't see it happening unless you can take it somewhere and get it color matched.

Yeah, I contacted customer care and they don't have touch up paint or any solutions, as expected.

Guess I will look to hobby stores or maybe a body shop. Heck, maybe even nail polish will work. It can't look much worse than it does now.

Sure. Here is before and after.

It turned out I had a red paint marker in my house with a similar color. I painted the marker on a notecard, then used a paint brush to touch up the spot. Used painter's tape to mask off the screen and the top of the phone.

Its not perfect, but less noticeable now.

Not perfect? I think it looks fantastic!!! I too have a small paint chip on the bottom left hand corner of my LE Atomic that is making my OCD go into overdrive at least 5 times a day! Would you mind sharing the brand and type of paint marker you used? My chip isn't as deep as yours so I think this DIY will do just the trick!

That sucks but good job on the touch up. Nothing hurts more than a damaged phone.

    Fixed (at least for me)

I don't really mind battle scars, it shows some toughness of the device, but a defective part is very frustrating

I put a clear case on mine and it looks pretty snazzy. I'm afraid of just such types of events, which make my KeyOne look like it went through world war one. this one has to last me until the next blackberry release. and who knows when that will be!

I used a Painters brand paint marker. Color was Cherry (1505060958) and it looks more orange in some angles. I am sending you a picture that better shows it. (Z30 does not have a great macro camera.)
