    Yes, I absolutely agree that it shouldn't be this hard. Verizon is apparently still learning how to deal with LTE-only devices.

    But their solution of a new SIM seems to be working for everyone else. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
    What's ironic is I had a 2 year old nano SIM that for giggles I popped into a Kyocera Cadence (CDMA-less, LTE only) and incoming/outgoing SMS service worked just fine. So I feel there's more to it. Something that needs to be provisioned through an update from both Verizon and BlackBerry Mobile.

    does anyone know if, after switching Sim cards and using the key2 le for a time, there would be an issue swapping the new Sim into a phone like the note 9. I like to switch things up every month or so and don't want to create a problem for my other phones.

    I don't know what I did with all the tinkering, but SMS is fully working on my KEY2LE with no SFO code or SIM change...I'm on 3GPP format using Verizon message + and I'm sending while receiving. I'm not touching a damn setting going forward!

    Maybe Verizon finally woke up and made the necessary server changes.

    Perhaps, time will tell. I am unable to use any other SMS app though at the moment, in addition, I cannot receive MMS on KEY2LE yet, but can send it out.

    This reminded me that the Messages+ app does some special magic with SMS and MMS messages so that your entire chat appears on all of your Verizon devices. If you're not receiving MMS messages and no other SMS/MMS app works, then I suspect the problem isn't really solved.

    It only appears of you authorize it to, which I have not. I have also had issues with in the past with branded Verizon devices using Message+ and receiving MMS, so this really isn't a surprise to me. I'm content now until Verizon/Blackberry push out a fix, or I finally get (yet another) SIM card and provision of a mystery feature that actually works.

    I tried so hard to make this work. Tojany issues with BlackBerry Mobile devices here in the states unless you want to use TMobile. Back to my Note 9, it's a bummer, I was wanting to sell the Note 9 and use the KEY2LE exclusively for business.

    For what it's worth, some people on the Key2 threads are now saying that if you pop in a new SIM to a Key2 it is now working on VZW. Might be worth trying a non-LE if you are stuck on VZW to see if it works...

    Was anyone able to fix this issue? My colleague uses Verizon and just received a KEY2LE. We have spent much of the day on the phone with tech support, visited two different stores in Manhattan, and none seem to recognize the device to allow it to receive text messages. Appreciate your help.

    Mine works fine but it took a week for VZW to provision properly. You need a new SIM card. Then have tier 2 support but a ticket in to have your phones IMEI added to the device management server. Once that is done have them add the CDMA-free feature on your account.

    (Posted in verizon experience as well)

    On the hub it is showing the text messages I am missing but it doesn't show on Google messages? Any thoughts as I tried verizon messages and that doesn't show as well. Essentially the text shows in the hub, when I click on it, the app opens and no message! Any thoughts? I didn't use textra as I heard it doesn't work with MMS correctly due to settings.

    This seems like a app issue not a Verizon issue as texts are being received correctly, just not displayed due to some ability for app to show it correctly.


    Update: after calling BlackBerry mobile this issue is a Google oreo issue that is affecting quite a few users, they said they are working on it (Google). Anyone else have this issue?

However that was only because I was using Yaata. Once I switched to the the stock messaging app, receiving MMS was fine. for whatever reason, I didn't need a new SIM.

    The issue is more on group MMS vs. Just a picture, although sometimes other issues as well like getting random older texts show up. I tried textra as well just now as BB mobile said someone had success on that and I also tried clearing cache and data on the MmsService and cleared cache and data as a android website said to do this and found it helped for a while but eventually had the same issueA Potential Fix for SMS on Verizon With a BBE100-5-screenshot_20181229-221736.jpg

    Looks like clearing the cache and data and restarting device download the pics and MMS messages. Quite a pain to do this every day several times a day, but until they fix this issue I have no choice.

    Bought the Key2 LE 2 days ago, just got text to work today. Sim wouldn't activate. Was replaced, but didn't realize sms was inop til I got home. Changed preferred network mode to LTE only under network settings, sim 1. Fixed it for me.

    In my case Uninstalling the update for Google message app works (no longer has a option for dark mode though) as Blackberry Mobile told me to that today along with erasing the data of the app, as this does not delete the messages, and then restarting the phone by waiting for 4 vibrations. Issue is MMS group messages not getting a SMS from on number. Try the group messages and let me know if you get them.

    until the next update many will have issues, after 2 calls to BB mobile, they all confirmed the issue. One other work around that works is https://messages.android.com/ and scan the code from your phone if using google message default app, it shows all the texts correctly, including MMS, just confirmed this and wish i knew this before!

    A little trick is to use your phone browser so you dont have to use a computer to check messages. You have to go to this web page on your phone browser (chrome) and then take a pic of that QR code with another phone, and then open app and click 3 dots at top right and choose messages for web and have the other phone's picture and your set! now you can use your chrome browser in the key2 LE to view /send/receive messages. Tedious, it is but worth it until the next update.
