My key2Le is roughly 6 months old. I bought it new. I use it daily. The paint is coming off the keys on the pkb. Kind of disappointing. My KeyOne is 3 years old. All the keys but the spacer bar look brand new on that one. Anybody else having this issue?
wish I had as good luck as you guys. My I and E are very noticeable. every other key has a very small dot where the paint is coming off. never had an issue with any of my other bb's over the past 16 years. mine is really noticeable when its dark and the pkb light is on.
@OP, are you typing with thumb nails? I do for speed, precision and to make my thumb a mm or two "longer" for far stretches. Great technique but it definitely wears paint from keys. I don't recall ever intentionally learning to type that way. it just happened.
Never been a problem for me since my thumb has no eyes and can't see the keys anyway. lol Thumb can feel its way on PKB.
The wear can look a little un-presentable, tho. Which is mostly why I swap kb on old 99 just before situations demanding presentability. 5 minute swap on 9900. While sipping coffee. lol No clue what swapping LE kb is like. ??
One client is 3D printing keys for some non-mobile related equipment. Those keys can wear half way thru and still be legible! Too bad no phones enjoy that feature, afaik.
below will be a photo of my 99. haven't swapped its kb since July. No in-person meetings, thanks to covid. won't bother with a photo of LE since 99's impressionist camera might only impress Monet. My LE wear is much less than 99 since 99 still serves 95% of my typing. I WOULD say that LE's keys wore pretty quickly but pretty subjective.
