    This rumor better be fake

2900 mAh? Wtf? And still huge form factor? At least if it was compact I'd understand...

It's 2900/3000 mAh. People usually only quote the second number.

So which is it? I mean peak capacity. Obviously if it's 3000 mAh, then a brand new device may have 2990 or something like that..

The battery says 2900/3000 on the side. Info comes from the FCC documents.

    Sure is disappointing to hear.

What's the effing point of keeping the same huge footprint as KEYone/KEY2 but stuffing a 500-600 mAh smaller battery? If the 3500 mAh fit in just fine in the casing, what the hell are they making room for?

Does it actually cost them THAT much more to just use the same cells as the other KEYs??

    I just don't get it!

Maybe they are making room for the massive CDMA antennae and the bloatware from Verizon....

    But doubt it.....

Lol, the budget lite version will use a better display than the flagship model?

Not sure I'd want AMOLED if it really has that underwhelming 2900mAh cell...

AMOLED would work better with the smaller battery though, no? Since it only uses power relative to pixels that are lit, you could use a dark mode in apps and it wouldn't be as big a drain as an LCD screen.

i think the battery size indicates the lower processor needs that the lite will probably have, 2900 will be more than enough .

Still, it's extremely disappointing to have a phone the size of KEY2 with such a small battery. And since it's so much smaller, you'd think they'd use the available space to include wireless charging... until you realize that the KEY2 doesn't therefore they won't put it on the budget model.

2 things I want right now from KEY2 LE:

Make the color trim consistent. If it's a red one, the camera ring and logo should be red also. Same for other colors. Don't pull a Bronze K1 on us and half a** the trim.

Second, that battery rumor better be false. Give us at least 3100-3200 mAh, not less. Seriously TCL.

More than enough, yeah, but I'm still getting actual warnings when my KeyOne drops below 30% battery because it happens so infrequently, and I love it. I'd hate to go back to just having enough juice to get through the day.

A matte keyboard? Take my money!

    Oh wait...2900 mAh....

Oh and I hope those frets match the trim color this time

Since that render is all black, does that mean the KEY2 LE won't only come in red, blue and copper?

3000 mAh. The lower number is usually ignored.

At least it's at the 3k mark...well, when freshly assembled.

Oreo might be great at power management, but how do you think it will fare with about 500 mAh less than K1/K2? Considering display is the same. I hope that 636 does wonders

Battery life is not only about capacity , its also about its optimization and blackberry are the best in the business, not to forget that the key2 lite will be running Andriod oreo out of the box ( limiting background activities ) adding to that the snapdragon 636, battery life is the last thing you should worry about .

I found one mention that implies one of the GSM models could be certified to work LTE-only on Verizon, but that's it. There's no CDMA version other than the one for China.
