Several threads asking the identical question, so you may wish to search.

Short answer - if the capacitive keyboard is a must, go KEYᵒⁿᵉ.

Otherwise, the KEY² LE is better in almost every other way, and has an extra year of support.

This is based on price. If you have 200 euros more, get the Key2 with its capacitive kb

K1 is better in all aspects except Software updates.

K2 LE has a more toy feeling and with this comment I am not saying that K1 is awesome.

PKB by far is better in the K1 except matte/flat finish.

The KEY² LE has a 636 SoC instead of a 625, so performance is substantially improved.

The keyboard is also 10% bigger, and includes the speed key.

It also has BT 5.0, dual camera, and LTE band 66.

Actually the capacitive keyboard on the KEY2 is not that great. The capacitive response is better on the Keyone.

You can use the app FastKey on the keyone and have more or less the same as the speedkey.

100% agree but having both devices side by side make the upgrades minimal for me.

Imho K1 battery us a must.

On the short try out I had on the key2 I didn't notice a big difference.
If you're not going to be a big heavy app user the LE will suffice as thje keyone does.
On the key2 you can turn off the capacitive function on the keyboard. Which rather defeats the purpose.
Prices are already dropping for the le , so bargains can be had!

Yes, so much depends on your usage, doesn't it. I have the KEYone SE, and it does everything I need it to because I'm one of those "one thing at a time" users who seldom has more than a couple of apps open at once.

I thought I liked having the capacitive pkb, after getting the le, it turns out I don't miss it much at all. On VZW so k2 was not an option but the key sizing, texture, and just about everything else is superior on the le. My biggest gripes after a few weeks; weaker vibration, sort of small led, I do miss using the pkb to scroll but everything else is better on the le; speed, pkb size, reception, Oreo, and did I say pkb!

You find speed to be better on the LE ? The 636 is a down clocked 660 and it has less RAM so not sure how it could be faster than KEY2, but it's definitely snappier than KEYone.

I find the vibration motor to be really strong on the LE (not quite as good as the wife's XR) but MILES better than the KEYone's.

Speedier than the K1 not a K2. This forum is a K1 black vs le. In terms of speed and fluidity on the K2le with Oreo kills my K1 stuck on N.

If the KeyOne Black was available for Verizon I would probably opt for it over the LE. Too bad it's not smh

I've had the LE Atomic for two weeks. I was very satisfied with the KeyOne AT&T Space Black version. I admit the color got me. The loss of the capacitive keyboard for scrolling is mitigated by being able to scroll with the space bar on some sites. Being retired, the swiping and word deletion loss doesn't effect me too much.
The other reason for buying the LE was being able to get the Android Pie update.
Performance observations : better integration with Android Auto (I did replace the cable too so who knows what caused the marked improvement), keyboard is easier to type on, battery life is better (but my KeyOne was about 18 months old), phone reception is better, very little App lag, camera seems to provide better pics, also Bluetooth integration with my wireless earbuds and smartwatch seem more reliable.
When you consider the price point the LE is a steal if you love PKB phones and BlackBerry security.
The Atomic version is hot but I admit the lightness prompted me to buy a clear case to protect this bad boy!

Hasn't there been reports of the KEY² working on Verizon now? If you want the best BlackBerry device out on the best network why not give it a shot? I've been on the KEY² LE with Verizon since it was available and I love the device. I'll be patiently waiting to buy a new color of the LE or the eventual KEY3 release.

i have both. Apart from the spec and function differences, the LE feels less premium than the Keyone Black. The lighter feel with the less premium case and more plasticky feeling keys are the main reasons. Some might say the red is more "toy-like" .
That doesn't mean it's not "nice" in itself. It seems to work well and I'm becoming faster on the keyboard than the keyone.
Despite what I've said, the LE is a good PKB for the money.
If you can live without the capacitive keyboard, go for it.

After using the LE for about a month.. I would say it is an upgrade from my KeyOne.

The KeyOne is still a lovely machine on its own, but the LE works much more fluently and swift in every category.

Of course the only downside is the capacitivelessness keyboard, but the LE holds its ground regardless. Let me say this though, if the LE did have a capacitive keyboard it would be the best BlackBerry to date (I haven't touched a Key2 yet).

The keyboards surface is matte and very easy to type and moves the thumbs around on, unlike the KeyOne. The KeyOnes glossy finish actually makes my thumbs "stick" to the surface moreso than this new matte finish on the LE.

    What's interesting to note:

The LE keyboard has a matte finish.

The Passport Silver Edition has a matte finish.

But these two matte finishes are entirely different.

The LE matte finish is a lot more smooth and swift.

And since I've never touched a Key2 yet, I'm assuming the matte finish on the Key2 is similar to the matte finish on the Passport SE? Can anyone vouch for this?

Reception on the LE is much better than on the K1 (black or not, doesn't matter).
I had/have both, and tested extensively. The K1 was almost not usable in some weak reception areas. No problems with the LE.
This alone makes the LE a huge improvement over the K1 for me.
