I was lurking on Reddit, which I don't do often because it's a cesspool, but someone posted two links.

This one listed for CAD $549 (~$420 USD)
TCL BLACKBERRY KEY2 LE SLATE GREY 4/32GB GSM UNLOCKED DEVICE - Product Details

This one listed for CAD $519 (~$399 USD)

True, but $399 sounds about right. Anything higher would be too expensive for the specs. Even $399 is a little high but not outrageous. This is the first relatively fairly priced device from BlackBerry Mobile if it is indeed $399.

I can agree with you here.

I'm also on the side of caution and a little sceptical, as we have been here many times before regarding the price of BlackBerry handsets.

I'm curious to your best guess of price and specs of the KEY 2 LE ?

Not a bad price if accurate. 32GB would be a problem for me if that's accurate :'-(

@thurask posted the specs in another thread:

    Dimensions: 150.25mm x 71.8mm x 8.35mm, 156g
    Colors: "Atomic", "Champagne", "Slate"
    Screen: 4.5" 1620x1080 LCD
    RAM: 4GB
    Storage: 32GB or 64GB
    CPU: Snapdragon 636
    Rear camera: 13MP Samsung S5K3L8 + 5MP Omnivision OV5675 (no OIS)
    Front camera: 8MP Samsung S5K4H7
    Battery: 3000 mAh, QC3
    Connector: USB-C 2.0
Variants: Americas GSM 1 and 2 SIM, rest of world 1 and 2 SIM, China 2 SIM

    Keyboard has no capacitive touch.
So $399 for (compared to Key2) a plastic body, slightly slower processor, smaller battery, same screen. Don't know about the camera. $349 would be even better but $399 isn't terrible.

Might be their most competitive pricing yet.

Well, I'm sure we will see the handset in all its glory soon enough and lets hope BBM see sense and price this handset just as you've suggested.

If it has a matte keyboard (which looks to be the case) then I'm selling my K1 BE for one. Too bad if I lose the capacitive PKB, I don't want the gloss lol

    Fair enough.

Wait for the official announcement of the specs as you could be loosing the capacitive keyboard and 500 mha of battery capacity.

Is your “friend” thinking of getting the LE?

I know it would add cost for the design, but I really wish they could shrink the LE by the 16.67% it would take to match the size of the keys on the KEYone while shrinking the rest of the phone.

That, or just make a 7 inch phablet. I find the huge size of the KEYone to be too large for a primary phone, but too small for dedicated Web browsing or video.

Can't imagine you'll ever see anything smaller than the 4.5" screen on the KEYs.

I would gladly sacrifice all kinds of features and pay full price for a smaller device. Same specs as K1 LE but with a 4" screen, that would be perfectly fine for me. Capacitive keyboard is a great loss but I would trade it for size.

He wouldn't pre-order one for sure, and he'd wait to see the first reviews, as well as the final price of the dual sim version, but if some conditions are met...

As long as it can hit 5.5 hours of SOT with ease, should be acceptable.
