Help - Problem With Memory
I recently bought my Key2 LE and I have been trying it for about a week. I am not yet connected to a cell network - just trying it on WiFi. I have barely downloaded any apps on it (only Waze, B of A, Pandora, Sirius XM, Skype, and Yelp). Note that I literally don't use ANY of these - they are just installed. I have been using the hub only for 1 Exchange Server e-mail account and theoretically text messages are part of the hub but I am not connected to a mobile network.
Anyhow, I have been getting low memory warnings, which is shocking considering that the only apps (in terms of the task manager (square button on the right)) are GMail, Hub, and Google Chrome. Right now within Chrome I only have 3 windows open. I do, however, typically have as many as 40 windows open within Chrome at once when I read the news in the morning but I always get through that within an hour and perhaps have several windows open throughout the day (at the same time within Chrome).
Right now, for example, I have 3 windows open in Chrome + GMail + Hub. The Power Center Memory Usage shows 80.48% memory used, 799 MB free, performance Moderate. How is it possible that my performance is already slowed down with only these things open?!?
The memory usage: current running apps shows 49 open apps but that almost all OS stuff like Bluetooth, NFC Service, Blackberry Keyboard, DTEK, etc, etc. Does this really mean that if I open 1 or 2 more apps I will end up with a low memory alert and already be tapped out? How can that be???
So I rebooted the phone and, with the exact same apps open, it's now saying that 50 apps are open but the Free Memory is 1695 MB and Memory Used 58.61%. Does that mean something was causing a memory leak? I would imagine the only thing it could be is perhaps all of the Chrome windows that perhaps leak after they are closed?
I just switched from a Classic so I have never used Android before. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or perhaps is the OS needs a reboot every week?
Thanks for your help!
