    I just noticed my Google Play Store now run in dark theme on my KEY2 LE.

    That looks good. But I wonder if there is a way to toggle between light and dark theme for it?

    The change is being rolled out regionally - much like all Google changes.

    There should be a toggle for pre-Android 10.

    Yes. We've since established that BlackBerry Android is being confused with Android 10 on system dark mode.

    It's actually interesting to find out Google default it to dark theme for BlackBerry Android 8. Perfect to me but it could be inconvenienct for some users.

    The dark mode is better than the blinding white modes of the past, but it could be much better. A good example of a dark mode is the CB app / web interface. Multiple uses of different grey tones to achieve clear visual separations of different areas / sections.

    The new play store dark mode struggles to achieve this. In many ways, it appears a quick and dirty "paint it black" approach has been used.

    I thought it was not defaulted, but that it looks to be a problem being caused by BlackBerry Android... ?

    To answer this thread of my own, my Google Play Store has turned light again. Then I find the Settings -> Theme is there and I can set it to Dark. Thanks.

    If you're asking about Cobalt's Patched Play Store... then, nope.

    Dark theme was added to the Play Store with version 17 (or around there). Cobalt's Play Store is stuck at version 6. It doesn't update automatically on BB10 like the actual Play Store does on Android.

    Apart from using Gmail in the Hub or inbox what email service provider do you use in the UK there isn't anything that I'm aware off that isn't American or British Telecom

    I was referring to the Gmail app specifically. I just use the Inbox and disable the Gmail app completely.

    just found and selected the option for the dark theme on my Motion and Key2le. that is much better than the light theme as far as I am concerned.

    Every time I see people getting excited about a new app that introduces dark theme, I remember that the KEY phones have LCD's...


    Only the Priv would really benefit from the dark theme stuff.

    Yeah but it looks cool.... At this point it isn't as much about saving a few minutes of OST.

    In the dark I do admit that it's much more comfortable to have dark mode, whether on LCD or OLED.

    However, most apps don't have an option to schedule it to be at night only or even custom schedule it to the hours you want.
