    So now after a week with the new LE something has popped up: I turn off all the location settings as well as the microphone (it's a BlackBerry; not hard to relate)
    But now Google Play Services goes off dozens of times a day wanting the microphone turned on.
    I have fumbled through settings for permissions as well as notifications and cannot seem to get this turned off.

    Any experience or ideas on how to disable the constant notifications?

    Do you have "hey Google" turned on?

    dang: spoke too soon. rebooted and the permissions notification for the microphone popped up again.

    Just allow it. Google won't "listen in" unless "hey google" is enabled.

    I think I found it: Messages>Settings>notifications>Google Play Services Availability toggled off
