Considering a Key2 LE

I have been a Blackberry user from 2004 (72XX) up until about 2015 when I had the Q10 and Classic I believe.

I currently have the iPhone 6s and have had it since Oct of 2015. I am really interested getting the new OM phone but my gut says it won't be available until late 2021 even though they are saying mid 2021.

I am considering getting the Key2 LE as a transition to the new OM in late 2021 or into 2022.

How long did it take for you to get used to going from an IPhone to a BB? Not the typing but Android ? I am more concerned I won't like the interface than anything else.

I do plan to give it a week or two before I shut off the iphone to be sure I have it setup the way I want.

Any tips? Thoughts?

Lost of money in North America, and Android/iOS is still 47%/53%.

And it's been floating around this for many years.

I have the iPhone 6s and Key2LE. I just played with both for a couple of hours and became comfortable with them. Sort of like being bi-lingual, imperial/metric, etc. But looking forward to the next BB phone!!!

Thats like saying I run Windows Pro on my gaming laptop because I cant afford a mac. Its simply not true. If someone wants an iPhone theres everything from payment plans to buying an older model. Even the Iphone se 2020 starts @ $400. But android works far better for me than IOS, just like windows works better for me better than OSX.

The key2 le is the third product from tcl an experienced tech manufacturer, as such the device has low amount of problems. Generally speaking you never want to be first in line to try a product as they usually have problems which get fixed with succesive products or if your lucky software updates. Onward mobilkty is not an experienced tech makers at all, so you should expect their first product to have problems. As such you should probably get key2 le. Especially sonce you come from a small screen and wont miss a sliders big screen, assuming thats their next device.
As for android explore it very well so your using it to its full potential and dont be afraid to download apps to replace what android offers, for example i got the free simple mobile file maager app to replace the included file manager, its alot better imo, same with music player, got black player

Why do you think OM goes with a poor selling form like a slider when history shows that BlackBerry Limited produced and BlackBerry Mobile licensed devices favored PKB and VKB over sliders. Mashups of physical items aren't usually successful if the function is truly important.

For instance, cars and trucks have a similar form, just adaptations for size and use. However, cars and boats, to avoid using bridges and ferries, seem like a good idea, but amphibious vehicles for general use have failed as of now.

Yeah forgot about foxconn they are i think co nsidered the best manufacturer. Is the software still 100 percent handled by blackberry? Then some.software glitches are.probable.
Also my favoring the slider is due.to peoples preference for bigger screens. I guess if key3 has bigger.screen say 5.5 inch it might be the next.device.

I don't think BlackBerry is involved much beyond supplying their logo.

I heard a news item saying blackberry was working with android to secure version 11. But assuming OM is going to provide alot of their own software then expect alot of glitches, the priv problem of heating up for example was software, the keyone lag over time was software, and that was from very experienced software devs (tcl tvs use embedded android i beleive).
It will be quite a jump in polish going from the seventh iphone to the first phone of a newbie software company.

The Priv heating was due to the 808 SoC.

The KEYᵒⁿᵉ had no slowdowns over time.

What was the source of your "news item" ?

I read here other manufacturers used the same chipset and didnt have the problem the priv did. Saw the bb news on this website but uou can google it, not sure what it means though, seemed a bit vague.strange about the keyone, read reviews complaiming it was laggy, but i guess it must not be a time issue.
Also the op should also consider security, the security updates are lacking, but not sure how much so on key2 le.
