I have a Key 2LE purchased through Verizon small business and enterprise department. Still on April 2019 version. What's going on?

Looks like they sold devices with no intention of updating past July according to spreadsheet.

    Some have August.

But something very unusual is happening right now with regards to updates. Could be good or bad. Pie and total shutdown are at each end of the spectrum.

Ya, it's a little early to abandon the LE

I have my LE on Wi-Fi and my Red Key2 has my Verizon SIM in it. They both got the August update on the same day. Don't remember what day but they are both on the August 5th update.

    Which one will eventually win?

With how the TCL updater system works what network it's connected to is irrelevant, what network and/or region it was initially designed for will permanently determine updates.

Right. I was just being detailed to rule Verizon out of the factor. At least in my case. Since my devices were not sold by them.

Rogers is still selling the KEY2 LE, so makes no sense that they wouldn't have an update of some sort.

Not if their plan is to shut down operations but they had already committed to this device before making that decision. They'll still try to move out inventory regardless.

They’ll do whatever demands VZW orders

Doesn't really explain why all but like 4 variants don't have an August update either. Could it be because Pie is coming shortly? Possibly but wouldn't hold my breath.

Like what happened last year, it's possible that ACA360/ACB168 are pre-Pie builds, and they are making sure everyone is upgraded to those first. Hence the delay.

At least that's what I hope is happening.

They may also be sitting on it pending a favourable outcome in the negotiations with BlackBerry.

No idea but I suspect the Palm and LE already sold through VZW suggests collaboration between TCL and VZW on hardware. This migration, if that’s what’s going on, was probably due 12-24 months out. With tariff, I suspect that implementation timetable was accelerated to stop BBTax eating into shrinking gross margins. If that’s really what’s going on....
